Sleeveless Duster, Similar HERE // Crop Tank, similar HERE and HERE // Free People High Rise Shorts, similar HERE // Dolce Vita Booties, similar HERE // Crossbody, similar HERE // Ray Ban Aviators
While my hubby was working on a business trip in San Jose, I headed out for a little shopping on Santana Row. We stayed at the cutest boutique hotel right in the heart of it. Since my photographer/husband wasn’t available I had to do what I had to do to get the shot! I loved these layered mirrors in the elevator lobby but thought I’d get a less abstract photo while in a dressing room.
I knew the temperature would rise to the mid 80’s later in the day but the mornings can be cool there. I opted for this Forever 21 cropped tank, similar available HERE and HERE, Free People high waisted shorts, similar HERE, by DV booties, similar HERE, and one of my current obsessions, a sleeveless duster like THIS ONE.
The high waisted shorts offset the crop top so that only a peek of skin shows.
The duster is a great addition to shorts, skirts, or dresses to give you more dimension to your outfit while giving you something to wrap yourself in for more coverage and warmth.
Have you tried the duster look yet?

After an amazing day of wine tasting and touring wine country, Todd and I were looking for a spot to sip on an entire glass of wine. We stumbled upon R + D Kitchen in Yountville, California on our way back to Sonoma. It caught our eye due to a beachy looking lounge area outside with umbrellas and adirondack chairs.
It was exactly what we were looking for to wind down the day. We didn’t intend to dine there but the food looked pretty good. They do have food service outside at high top tables but we discovered that it was a pretty limited menu.
We grabbed a spot inside at the bar to expand our food options. I was very torn between the Thai Tuna Sushi Roll and the Sashimi with Cashew Kale Salad. I chose the latter and couldn’t have been happier. The sashimi was crisp and refreshing and the salad was the perfect mix of sweet and savory. The bar tender’s description of the Thai Tuna Roll was pretty good so next time I get out that way I may have to try that too!
Todd had the Greek Style Rotisserie Chicken served with Tabouleh. This was a dish that was bursting with flavor. So good!
All of the sudden I’m hungry and sad we don’t have an R + D Kitchen anywhere near where we live! I highly recommend you put this on your places to have lunch or dinner if you visit the Napa area. The atmosphere and food will not disappoint.
Everly Jumpsuit // MICHAEL Michael Kors Wedges, similar HERE // BaubleBar Tassel Earrings // Monogram Necklace // Kate Spade Crossbody, similar HERE
If you are looking for effortless yet chic style look no further than a great jumpsuit. This chambray number is on trend with the off the shoulder look. I love the versatility of it being a neutral that can be dressed up or down.
I chose a tall wedge to elongate my legs. The hem hits my calf which could otherwise stunt someone of my height (5’5″). HERE is another wedge that would work. (I found mine at Nordstrom Rack)
Simple pink accessories like these tassel earrings and quilted crossbody (similar HERE) compliment the femininity of the ruffled top.
Sadly I had a camera malfunction so I apologize for the photo quality but I thought they were still worth sharing.
I hope you had a great weekend! I’m headed back from a laughter filled trip with friends in Seattle.

On a recent trip to Sonoma, my husband and I made our way from Napa to Calistoga checking out a few wineries. For lunch we stopped in St. Helena to go to Market upon a recommendation from a friend. I’m so glad we did! I’ll get to the restaurant in a second. My first impression was that St. Helena has the cutest little downtown full of shops and restaurants. It’s definitely a place I’d go back to when I can spend some more time.
Now to Market. I made a reservation on OpenTable although we didn’t really need to. The ambiance was cute and we were seated right away.
I wasn’t starving so I went with something light. The Lobster Rolls in Rice Paper included asparagus, avocado, sweet papaya, pickled red onions and a basil mint vinaigrette. They were exactly what I wanted. Light, delicious, and refreshing.
Todd chose the Dungeness Crab Cake and Parmesan Garlic Fries. We ordered a crab cake as an appetizer the night before only to be told they just ran out. We were also eyeing another table’s truffle fries. So, I think he/we had both of these on the brain! The crab cake was a little more fried on the outside than I’d prefer but the inside was light, tasty, and not heavily breaded. It was served with sweet white corn, asparagus, english peas, and coriander-lime butter sauce. The fries did not disappoint because of course I had to have a few!
If you are in the Napa area, make your way to St. Helena. When you get there be sure to have a meal at Market.
Romper // Bralette, similar HERE and HERE // Choker // Lariat, similar HERE // Earrings, similar HERE // Clutch, similar HERE
There is this great little boutique that I’ve never been to (haha!), Sofi Stella. Seriously, it’s at least an hour from me and I never get that way. A friend of mine knows the owner and hosts parties for her a couple times a year. They don’t typically do parties but I’m so glad they do it for her! Every time I go, I end up leaving with at least a couple adorable pieces like this one.
I picked this floral romper up at the last party this past spring. It has 3 of the current trends: bell sleeves, romper, and floral. I love the ruffle detail at the bottom. Sofi Stella does have a website but this romper is no longer available. They do have a couple other prints like THIS and THIS. However, I found another online boutique that does have it in stock in all sizes and it’s on crazy SALE HERE!! I am beyond excited that I found this for you! I had intended on posting this look tomorrow but had to move it up because I couldn’t wait to tell you!!
The top drapes open a bit so I opted for a lace bralette like THIS or THIS but you could wear a cami.
I accessorized with layered necklaces and cluster earrings. The choker can be found HERE. I purchased the rose gold rosary lariat at TJ Maxx. I see them there frequently but HERE is one you can buy online. My earrings are from the JCrew Factory Outlet. They are no longer in stock but HERE is a smaller version. They have other options as well. They have great accessories!
My clutch is Kate Spade from a past Surpise Sale. (See POST about the current Kate Spade Surprise Sale that ends TODAY!). HERE is a similar large gold clutch.
This is yet another piece that will carry you into fall with the sleeves and dramatic colors.
I’m off to Seattle today with some college friends. So excited! Don’t worry, I’ll still check in with you tomorrow.

I have a serious thing for plaid. I pretty much lived in all of my plaid shirts this winter. I was delighted to find a short sleeve option for warm, but not too warm, weather! This bll button down is so soft and flowy. Find it HERE in other colors.
I paired it with my Rag & Bone boyfriend shorts. Similar style HERE.
It’s been a little hot to get much wear out of my booties this summer (I’m not complaining about the heat – for the record!) but they were perfect for my recent trip to northern California. While the days were still hot, there wasn’t any humidity and the mornings and evenings were a little cooler. I love my Dolce Vita booties that I bought last season in this color and black. HERE is a similar style.
I think this outfit is the perfect way to transition to fall, not that I’m in a hurry to! Once it’s a little cooler you can swap out the shorts for jeans and add a long cardigan.

Do you ever struggle to workout on Mondays? I do because the Pilates class I go to that morning is pretty intense (jumpboard aka lots of cardio!). Just getting there in something I feel good in helps a ton.
When I first joined Club Pilates this spring I noticed a lot of the instructors wearing some pretty loud printed leggings. Being someone who tries to camouflage my thighs and booty in any way I can, I never thought I could wear something like that. The cuteness factor didn’t escape me. What I found is that prints that run in a vertical fashion, like this one, are totally doable for me!
What I love about Onzie leggings is that they are thin but still somehow magically able to keep all of your body parts where they are supposed to be! I purchased these from Club Pilates but they are also available here. For anyone local, Club Pilates in Beverly Hills, MI still has them!
I had been on the lookout for a full length strappy top to wear to pilates. I found this one. Although it’s not designed for working out, it does the trick when you add a strappy sports bra or bralette like this one!
Of course I have to accessorize a bit so I threw on this teal leather cuff bracelet that I purchased at a local boutique years ago. Here is a similar one. I’ve kind of been obsessing over one of the current earring trends, ear climbers. These are Kate Spade’s and I purchased them at Nordstrom Rack. They don’t have them online but I’ve seen them in the store recently. Here they are in other colors.
I hope your week is off to a great start!

There is something about a preppy look that intrigues me. These Lilly Pulitzer shorts caught my eye at TJ Maxx with their playful scallops and pink and green combo (one of my faves!), not to mention the pricetag! This Buttercup style is now available in a lilac and ink print. If you are crushing on the pink and green print, there are several for sale on Poshmark and ebay. Here is one. I would say they run a little big considering these come as small as a 000! Mine are a 00 for reference but normally I wear a zero in most clothes.
I started the day in Sonoma while wine tasting in this lightweight cotton Vineyard Vines shirt my hubby bought for me this spring. It doesn’t look like it’s available anymore but here is a similar style in fun pink and white stripes. These also run big. Mine is an XS and it’s quite roomy. I’ve even tried to shrink it in the dryer!
As the day went on and we moved further north, the temperature drastically changed. I was shocked that the temp could be 10 degrees hotter from a location 5 miles from the next! Luckily I was prepared with a back up shirt. This double layer swing tank is from a past season at Zara. Here is a very similar style.
I found my Tom Ford shades for you for a killer deal here! I’ve had this Marc Jacobs crossbody for awhile and love it’s neutral color. You can find it in other colors here and here . Here is a similar style in the cognac color I have. To give it a different look I added this fun pink pom pom.
We stopped for lunch in St. Helena which is such a cute town! I need to spend more time there. We had the best time and I can’t wait to go back to visit more wineries.

On my recent visit to Sonoma my husband and I dined at a fabulous restaurant, El Dorado Kitchen, in the quaint downtown square. After a 4 hour flight and an hour and a half drive to the hotel, we were famished and looking forward to a good meal.
We were so hungry that we dove right into our starters and I forgot to take photos! Trust me that they were pretty. Todd went with the daily soup, corn. I love a good corn soup and almost chose this. It was delicious but it was hard to have food envy with a salad like mine. It was a good sized mixed greens salad with strawberries, summer squash, pickled red onion, pepitas, bleu cheese which I subbed with feta, and a tamarind vinaigrette.
I went with a starter for my entree, Ahi Tartare. So much flavor and pretty filling! The tuna was mixed with asian pear which was a nice touch. It was served on an avocado mousse and topped with wasabi tobiko.
Todd chose the New York Steak which he was still talking about a week later. It had a delicious smokey flavor to it that I hadn’t quite experienced before. It was served with a smoked potato puree, romanesco, confit carrots, baby fennel, king trumpet mushroom, chimichurri (yum!) and bordelaise.
The menu wasn’t huge but everything we saw looked great. There were a couple seafood dishes, a chicken dish, a pasta, and a vegetarian risotto. The truffle fries smelled amazing and I’m sure they were!
If you find yourself in Sonoma or in nearby Napa, I recommend you make a stop for a nice dinner at El Dorado Kitchen.
