Lipsense Bombshell

Lipsense Bombshell Lip Color // H&M Dress // Levi’s Vest // Sugarfix by BaubleBar Earrings // Canvas Choker, similar HERE

If you have been intrigued about Lipsense lip color you are not the only one!  I first learned about it in January when a former coworker of mine invited me to a Facebook party.  Since then I have been invited to two more FB parties.

Lipsense is made by Senegence which sells an array of skincare and beauty products but this long wear lip color seems to be their flagship product.  Sure there are other long wear lip products on the market but I’ve never come across one that truly lives up to it’s claim.  Lipsense boasts that you be left with lasting color for up to 18 hours!

Of the 36 colors offered I was initially drawn to the nude/natural colors since that is typically what I wear.  But, I think that I would wear a bold lip more often knowing that it would stay put.

After watching and learning from these parties for several months, I finally decided to give it a try.  I started with a “safe” color which is pictured above, Bombshell.  There were a few neutrals I was debating between.  Supposedly this one is Jennifer Anniston’s favorite and hey if it’s good enough Jen….haha!

I also chose one on the other end of the spectrum, a bold red!  I thought that would be a true test to see if it really stays on and doesn’t end up all over every mug, spoon, and straw I put my lips on.  I’m going to show that one in another post but, spoiler alert – it really works!!

Back to Bombshell.  It is the prettiest soft peach with a subtle hint of shimmer.  It is so me and I will definitely be wearing it regularly.

Application is important.  Start with clean dry lips.  I’ve actually found it’s best to apply the color before putting any lotion or foundation on.  Then apply one thin coat swiping the wand in one direction and do not let lips touch.  Let it dry for 10-15 seconds before applying a second coat.  Dry and apply a third.  Once dry apply a Lipsense gloss (I used the clear glossy) and then lips are good to go!

The first few times I used it I did experience a slight tingling when applying the color but it quickly went away especially after applying the gloss.  It’s important to reapply the gloss throughout the day to protect the color and moisturize.  The gloss contains goodies for your lips like shea butter.

I’m a huge fan of this color and think I’m going to have to spring for a few more in this color family!  I love that there are also different gloss options to change up the look like matte, glitter, opal, etc.

If you’re not “wowed” yet, just wait until you see the red!!

For more information and to order please visit HERE to see what colors my friend, Abby, has available.   (Lipsense must be ordered through a Distributor.)  Simply comment on the “available colors” and “available glosses” posts to reserve your color(s) and she’ll follow up with ordering information.

If for some reason you don’t like the product or the color, just send it back for a refund or another color.  What do you have to lose?

Ruffle Top // Pearl Ear Climbers

NYTT Top, similar HERE, HERE, and HERE // Paige Jeans, similar HERE // Nadri Ear Climbers, similar HERE // Michael Kors Belt, similar HERE // BCBGeneration Bracelet // Shinola Watch // Steve Madden Wedges // Ray-Ban Sunglasses // Similar Clutch

I haven’t got this excited about a top in awhile!  It’s so perfect for spring and summer.  I found this NYTT sleeveless ruffle top at a Marshall’s on a recent trip to Denver.  It was so good that I snapped a selfie wearing it in the dressing room and put another one on hold for a friend that lives in the area!  HERE, HERE, and HERE are similar styles.

I will definitely be subbing these jeans for shorts on warmer days.  But until then get yourself a pair of Paige white skinny jeans.  You can pay full price many places but you can get them at Nordstrom Rack in store for less than $100.  Or HERE is a similar style.

Earlier in the day I wore this look with slip on sneakers but threw on these neutral wedges for a dressier look.  A mule loafer or sandal would work as well depending on the look you are going for.

I’m seeing a lot of on trend accessories with pearls.  I’ve picked up a few chokers and had to have these pearl ear climbers I found at Nordstrom Rack.  They aren’t available online but HERE is a similar style.

I’ve had this rattan clutch for years and love bringing it out in the summer months or on warm vacations.  HERE is a similar style.

I hope you did something fun this Memorial Day Weekend!  I went on a road trip with my husband to visit friends in Chicago for a night and then to Kohler, Wisconsin to meet some other friends for golfing (the boys) and spa treatments (the girls).  We stayed at the American Club Resort and I highly recommend it.  The service was amazing and the spa was fantastic!  I had my first hydrafacial.  Anyone tried one?  I will definitely be getting another.  I literally feel like my skin is glowing and more youthful looking.  (the pics above were taken before this trip so don’t judge haha!)  Of course the guys liked the golf courses too.

Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

It’s that time of year!  Sales!  Many stores will have sales over the weekend for Memorial Day but Nordstrom has one that has one that is already going on now through June 4th, the Half Yearly Sale.

I’ve combed through what is still in stock to share some of my favorites with you.  Many items sell out quick so don’t wait if you see something you like!

  1. Nike Free Run Flyknit 2 Running Shoe – SALE $96

I actually just got these in the mail today and they are dreamy let me tell you!  I’ve had my eye on them for awhile and finally went to the mall last week to try them on for size.  The size I needed wasn’t available so I ordered them online.  I typically wear a half size smaller than usual in Nike shoes and these were no exception.  They are light as a feather (and I thought my last pair were light) and super breathable!  I’ve been wearing them all afternoon without socks and not a drop of moisture in there.  I will probably wear socks with them when I’m active.  I’m not a runner but I have been making it a point to get more cardio in with walking since the weather is nicer now.

2. Lush Cold Shoulder Dress – SALE $29.40

You know I love a good cold shoulder top or dress!  This one is lightweight and a fun color for summer.  It also comes in black.

3. Lace Choker – SALE $5.98

You can never have too many chokers.  Well I can’t!  I have a similar cream lace choker and I love it because it’s a subtle.  It’s perfect to pair with a statement earring.  For this price you might as well get the black one too!

4. Tory Burch Espadrille – SALE $100.49

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect espadrille flat and this one might be it!  Tory has never let me down.  I tend to lean toward neutral shoes, like these, that will go with nearly everything and give the illusion of longer legs, which is extra important (to me!) when wearing flats.

5. Lush Criss Cross Top – SALE $26.98

For those cooler days/nights, this is a great on trend top.  The blush color is my fave but it comes in other solids and a few prints as well.

6. Lush Ruffle Dress – SALE $29.40

Can you tell I have a thing for Lush?  They always have great fitting trendy items for a reasonable price which makes their sale items even harder to resist!  This is another great casual dress for summer.  I love it styled with the booties like the model is wearing but it would look super cute with sandals or wedges as well.  It also comes in other colors.

7. Free People One Shoulder Tee – SALE $38.40

This is such a fun summer staple that I could see myself getting a lot of wear out of.  The black one is currently in my cart but there are other colors available.

8. Vince Camuto Loafer Mule – SALE $59.96

Ahh!  Of course these go on sale after I purchased a different pair!  Love the perforated style of these.  They are the perfect way to make a casual look look a little more polished than sneakers – which I love too but sometimes you want to switch it up!

9. Rebecca Minkoff Saddle Crossbody Bag – SALE $147.49

Saddle bags, crossbody bags, Rebecca Minkoff….three things I love combined into one!  This is a great price and the color is so perfect for summer.

Get your online shopping on before you miss out on some fabulous pieces for fantastic deals!

Off the Shoulder Romper // Wedges

Mossimo Romper // Steve Madden Wedges // Express Choker // Baublebar Earrings, similar HERE // Rebecca Minkoff Crossbody // Ray-Ban Sunglasses

It’s finally romper season and I couldn’t be happier!  I love this updated version that sits off the shoulder and has statement sleeves.  I have to admit that I’ve been purposely trying to stay away from buying clothes from Target but they seriously have so many cute rompers and dresses right now that I couldn’t resist!  The length is so perfect not to mention the colors.

I’ve had these wedges for a couple months now and haven’t had the weather warm enough to break them in until this weekend.  I was actually in LA for a quick trip and put several miles on these babies!  Even though they seem pretty tall, they couldn’t be more comfortable.  They come in a couple of other colors as well.  They are so similar to a designer brand for a fraction of the price!  Do yourself a favor and add these to your cart for your summer wardrobe.

I am so into the Baublebar line.  I was excited to find these druzy drop earrings at Nordstrom Rack recently.  I don’t see them online but, if you can’t find them in your local store, I’ve linked a similar pair HERE.  I may have a slight problem with buying blush earrings!  I just love the color and they go with so much of what I wear.

We just opened our pool today.  It looked more like a swamp at first but it’s slowly becoming more clear.  We’ll probably have to save our cannon balls until tomorrow!

Kate Spade Surprise Sale

If you haven’t already heard, this could be one of the last Kate Spade Surprise Sales for awhile!  Coach recently acquired Kate Spade and there is rumor that while “Kate” will retain her own brand, there is likely to be fewer of the flash sales that have been offered throughout the year with savings up to 75% off.

I’ve found some great pieces for fabulous deals over the years so I must admit I hope the rumor is not true.  Just in case, hurry and check out the current surprise sale.  It ends tonight!

Here are my top picks:

  1. Ear Jackets

2. Backpack

3. Tassel Earrings

4. Bow Crossbody

5. Striped Backpack

6. Large Tote

Happy Shopping!

Short Sleeve Sweatshirt // Mesh Leggings // Rose Gold Fitbit Blaze

Free People Sweatshirt, also HERE // Zobha Leggings, also HERE // Similar Pearl Choker HERE // Fitbit Blaze // Fitbit Blaze Rose Gold Band // Henri Bendel Bracelet, similar HERE // Nadri Ear Climbers, similar HERE

I’ve really been on a roll at discount stores like Nordstrom Rack in the last week!  I found these blush and gray mesh leggings for less than $30!  I’m pretty picky about how my leggings fit and tend to stick to certain brands.  I wasn’t familiar with this line but I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for more from them.  I love how they hold everything in while looking super cute at the same time.  I’m so into this color combo and heart the mesh detail.  If they don’t have your size, I also found them HERE.

I also found this short sleeved distressed sweatshirt at the Rack but also found it HERE for you.  Both are also less than $30.  It’s great to warm up in over a lighter tank.  I often run errands after my pilates classes so I like that it gives me a little more coverage to toss on after class.

I’m seeing tons of pearl accessories in stores.  This is my second pearl choker and I found it at the Rack.  Big surprise!  I honestly don’t even remember who makes it because I ripped it off the packaging it came on so fast to wear it right away!  I don’t see it online but HERE is another style.

Lastly, I’ve had my Fitbit Blaze for almost a month now.  I wasn’t overly interested in them when they first came out.  Now that they have a heart rate monitor feature and pretty bands I changed my tune!  I have the gunmetal Fitbit Blaze.  It comes with a black rubber band that I have yet to wear but expect to at some point.  The face pops out easily to swap for other bands.  I fell in love with this rose gold band that looks just like a chain link watch.  It’s currently on sale!

I love tracking my fitness but also find the sleep and water intake functions super helpful.  There are tons of other features as well.  As far as I can tell it’s pretty much the same as an Apple Watch but for a fraction of the price.  Yes it syncs with my iPhone and can notify me of text messages and incoming calls if I choose.  My husband predicted the novelty would wear off after a month but I’m still super into it and don’t see that changing anytime soon!

Do you have a fitness tracker?  What do you like/dislike about it?

Off the Shoulder Chambray Top // Gold Metallic Loafer Mules

Thread & Supply Top, similar HERE, HERE, and HERE // Rag & Bone Shorts, similar HERE // H&M Mules // French Connection Crossbody // Ray-Ban Sunglasses // Nadri Earrings, similar HERE

I love a good denim on denim look.  I found this off the shoulder chambray top at Nordstrom Rack a few months ago and have been dying for the weather to wear it in this way!  The ties are a fun detail and HERE is a similar style.  I’ve also rounded up a few other styles HERE and HERE.

I can’t get enough of destroyed denim and shorts are no exception.  I just bought a new pair today!  These are Rag & Bone and HERE is a similar and more affordable pair.

I’ve been on the hunt for a neutral pair of flat loafer mules.  Initially I was thinking nude or blush but then I stumbled upon these gold metallic loafer mules.  I do consider gold a neutral since it goes with just about anything.  What’s great about these is that they aren’t overly shiny so they just give a subtle flair.  I ordered mine online when they were on sale for $20.  I was just in Denver this week and saw them in store marked down to $15!  I walked all over in them this weekend and expect to have these on on repeat.

If you do make a trip to H&M soon, be sure to look for this pearl and skull double ring.  It’s not available online but I found mine in store this weekend for $3!

I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day with loved ones!

Cropped Hoodie // Round Mirrored Aviators

Free People Hoodie // Who What Wear Skirt, similar HERE // Catherine Malandrino Boots, similar HERE // Betsey Johnson Sunglasses // Hinge Thermal Top // French Connection Handbag // Marchesa Ear Crawlers, similar HERE

Ok so this isn’t the most “springy” outfit but spring hasn’t exactly sprung here yet.  I don’t know what’s going on but it’s been a chillier than normal May so far.  I’m hoping we’ll see a warm up VERY soon!

This cropped hoodie is uber soft and comfortable! It even has the big exaggerated sleeves that we are seeing tons of this spring.  It’s super cute with high waisted jeans but I went for a layered look with a lightweight thermal top underneath.  Both are major sale so it’s a good time to stock up!  You’ll want to have these come fall.

My black lace trimmed midi skirt is no longer available but HERE is one very similar.  I’ve gotten quite a bit of use out of this skirt already but I’m looking forward to some summer looks I have in mind for it.  I wish it came in more colors!

I stocked up on few new pairs of sunnies recently and these are so fun!  It combines two trends – round aviators and mirrored lenses.  The best part?  They are less than $10!!  These will definitely get a lot of use this summer.  I literally had to purposefully walk past the sunglasses section at Nordstrom Rack today to keep myself from buying more!

What do you have planned for Mother’s Day?  I’ll actually be out of town this year but already have a date on the calendar to celebrate with my mom when I get back.  I’d tell you what I got her but she’s one of my subscribers/followers 😉  Sorry Mom!

Off the Shoulder Jumpsuit // Round Metal Ray-Bans

Mimi Chica Jumpsuit, similar HERE and HERE // BCBGeneration Shoes, similar HERE and HERE // Melrose and Market Choker // French Connection Handbag // Ray-Ban Sunglasses // Kendra Scott Ring

It’s been a long winter without my beloved jumpsuits and rompers!  I’m loving that I’m seeing them stick around and with updated trends like this off the shoulder jumpsuit.  I found mine at Marshall’s about a month ago but HERE and HERE are similar styles.  They are seriously so comfortable and you don’t have to put much effort into your look to look totally put together!

Short girl problems (I’m 5′ 4.5″ for reference) require a shoe with some serious height.  Of course I could have it hemmed but I guess I’m lazy and don’t want to wait/deal for/with that!  I chose a black strappy stiletto, HERE and HERE are similar options.

Round sunnies are popping up as a new spring/summer trend.  I just picked a couple pairs to try.  I normally feel a little John Lennon-ish in round sunglasses but they look so cute when I see them on other people that I’m going to give them a shot.  I’m slightly obsessed with copper home decor so when I spotted these copper round Ray-Bans at Nordstrom Rack I knew they were going home with me!  The hubs isn’t into them but I don’t care.  Sometimes guys just don’t get fashion!

I’m road tripping to Chicago tomorrow to visit one of my besties in her new home in the burbs.  So excited!
