Mesh Midi Skirt // Striped Crop Top

F21 Top, similar HERE // Mossimo Skirt // BCBGeneration Heels, similar HERE // Rebecca Minkoff Crossbody // Stella & Dot Bracelet // Express Sunglasses, similar HERE // LipSense in Lexie Bear-y (2x) and Bravo (1x)

I adore all things girly and nothing scream ultra feminine like a tulle mesh skirt!  They immediately catch my eye when I see them in store but the truth is I’ve never found one that lays right beneath the waistband.  That is until now!  I spotted this pink mesh midi skirt on a recent trip to Target and I love that the tulle lays flat under the waistband.  On top of that, it’s a midi length that someone my height (5′ 4.5″) can actually wear without looking like my legs got chopped off!  This is possible with the mini skirt that is layered underneath a shear panel of mesh.  Being able to see the silhouette of legs lengthens the look.

I have a couple different ways that I envision styling this skirt but since we still have warm weather I decided to start by pairing it with this cropped stripe top that I picked up a few years ago.  HERE is one that would give you the same look.

As if I need another pair of sunglasses, I found these at Express last week and couldn’t resist them!  I was expecting them to ring up at $29.99 but they actually were $9.99.  I don’t see the exact pair online but HERE is a similar pair on sale for $19.90 (all of their sunnies are on sale for that prices and there are tons of cute pairs).  The sales at Express seem to fluctuate regularly so keep checking back if they are back to full price by the time you see this.

When the kids go back to school you know it’s only a matter of time before one comes home with some sort of illness.  We’ve got our first sore throat in the house today.  Hopefully it doesn’t become much worse than that.  I’ve got the essential oils diffusing on repeat to keep the rest of us healthy and hopefully help make my step daughter feel better sooner.

Mesh Embroidered Dress // High Waisted Jeans

Potter’s Pot Dress, similar HERE and HERE // Free Press Bra // Levi’s Jeans // BCBGeneration Shoes, similar HERE // Rebecca Minkoff Crossbody // Ray-Ban Sunglasses // LipSense in She’s Apples and Bombshell with Sand Gloss

Embroidery is a trend that is carrying into the fall.  I’m also starting to see quite a few mesh pieces out.  I picked this midi dress combo of both at TJ Maxx recently.  While I’m wearing it more boldly here, I’ve also worn it with a black tank, denim shorts, and booties.  I’ve even worn it as a beach cover up.  HERE and HERE are similar styles.  Search “mesh dress” on and there are tons of options available.

For me this is more of a night look but some girls would rock it in the day.  I say “go for it” if you have the confidence to do it!  I chose this velvet longline bra underneath and my favorite high waisted jeans which are a fantastic deal.

I bought this olive crossbody during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and it sold out pretty quickly.  It’s back in stock now and 50% off!  That’s an even better deal than I got!  I’ve already used it a ton this summer but I’m super excited to use it with my fall wardrobe.

I’ve been having fun experimenting layering my LipSense colors.  This stuff is seriously amazing!  Not only is it smudge proof, kiss proof and waterproof, it lasts up to 18 hours.  Seriously!! You apply in in 3 layers.  I started by using the same color for all three but now am finding that I can get more variety by using more than one to change up a look.  Here I am wearing one layer of She’s Apples which is a super fun bright orange red that I toned down with two layers of Bombshell which is a barely there neutral color.  I topped it with Sand Gloss which is a super light beige with a subtle shimmer.

It’s been a busy month or so and I haven’t been able to keep up with posting as much as I would like to.  I’m hoping to get back on track with summer winding down.  I hope you have fun plans for the holiday weekend.  We have friends coming into town and are going to the U2 concert again!

Ruffle Striped Skirt / Off the Shoulder Tee

H&M Top, similar HERE // Zara Skirt, similar HERE // Dolce Vita Sandal // Stella & Dot Earrings, similar HERE // BaubleBar Bracelet, similar HERE // Tom Ford Sunglasses // Dark Pink LipSense

Did you witness the solar eclipse today?  It was at 80% where I live.  I didn’t have the glasses so I didn’t stare directly at it but it was still cool to see the glow change and temperature dip.  There certainly was a lot of buzz about it and it was nice to see the country come together on something.

Now back to our regularly scheduled ruffles and off the shoulder!  Two things I never get sick of.  I found this ruffle striped skirt on clearance for $12.99 when I was in Santa Monica a few weeks ago.  It’s since been reduced to $9.99 online.  Small was the smallest they had available in the store but I would have preferred an XS for a snugger fit.  It’s also available HERE.

I picked up this off the shoulder tee at H&M last year.  I sized up for a roomier fit but I actually would have liked a size smaller for this tucked in look.  I bodysuit would work as well.  HERE is a similar top.

I scored these block heel studded sandals during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  They are pretty comfortable and the neutral color will go with just about anything.

These tassel earring from Stella & Dot are no longer available but HERE is a similar pair on clearance for less than $7 plus use code SAVE20 when you check out for an additional 20% off!  I just love the Sugarfix by BaubleBar collection!

Ruffled Skort // Gladiator Sandals

Zara Skort, similar HERE / F21 Tee / Mossimo Sandals / BaubleBar Earrings

A few weeks ago I took a family trip to Malibu.  I’ve visited a few times before but had never stayed there prior.  It was so beautiful and peaceful!  We definitely utilized our time there but did venture out to other areas of LA as well.

On an afternoon in Santa Monica my husband suggested shopping.  He, nor his 16 or 20 year old kids, are big shoppers so I knew my window would be small.  We literally went in two stores before the shopping excursion ended!  The first store was Nike (for him).  The second was Zara.  I pretty much raced to the back of the store to raid the sale racks before it was time to move on.

I scored two adorable ruffled pieces including this ruffled skort.  I got it for $12.99 but it’s now online for $7.99!  Be sure to scroll down to check your store’s availability if you don’t see your size.  I also found a similar style HERE.

The skort is high waisted so a cropped top would work well or you could tie up a tank or tee like I did here.  This v neck tee is less than $6 and comes in a ton of colors.  You never can have too many white tees!

My gladiator sandals are a great Valentino knock off.  They are less than $30 online but I’ve heard that they are on clearance in store for $10!  Either way, they are a great deal and a quality shoe.

I mentioned these Bauble Bar beaded earrings recently and am so happy to report that they are now available online!  They are so fun for summer.

If you haven’t noticed, I have a major thing for all things blush.  I have a super cozy winter cardi in blush but thought this lighter weight beauty would be perfect for late summer into fall.  It was one of my first Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases and unfortunately it sold out pretty quickly.  I’ll let you know if I see it get restocked but I also found this other blush cardi that is worth checking out.

Now is a great time to stock up on some flowy relaxed tees.  Mine is from Express and HERE is a similar style in a bunch of colors on sale for $10!  The high low style is great tucked or untucked.  It can be worn with virtually anything – shorts, skirts, jeans, leggings, and joggers!

My booties are also from the Anniversary Sale and still in stock!  These are so comfy and will get tons of use this fall.

These are literally my favorite pair of shorts.  They are a size bigger than I normally wear in jeans but I think it just makes them that much more cozy.  I slip on a belt and I’m good to go.  I was lucky enough to find mine on Poshmark for $20 but HERE is a similar style for full retail.  You should definitely check out Poshmark to look for your size though.  I did a search for my friend the other day and found a couple pairs for her for great deals.  Search for Rag & Bone Boyfriend Shorts or Rag & Bone Destroyed Shorts.

I can’t believe tomorrow is Friday already!  I just got back Tuesday night from a family vacation in Malibu, California.  It was a perfect little getaway.  We enjoyed the beach, ate yummy food, hiked, and helped my step son move into his next apartment.  If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my Insta Story videos of some of our adventures including some tourist activities like my first visit to Rodeo Dr. (window shopping only!) and to Sur (didn’t see Lisa or a single cast member!).  There were a few celebrity sightings, one of which I have no idea who he is and already forgot his name but the kids knew who he was.  The other was Anthony Michael Hall, almost unrecognizable, sitting at the table next to us at a sushi restaurant.  I’ll always remember him as the goofy kid is some of the best movies of my childhood.

Lace Midi Dress

Love…Ady Dress, similar HERE / Sam Edelman Shoes, similar HERE and HERE / Stella & Dot Bracelet / Natasha Earrings / Aussie Rose LipSense

This is the third dress I’ve bought it this style!  Midi length can be tough to pull off if you aren’t super tall.  I am not (5′ 4.5″).  I normally struggle with this length because, if not done right, it can cut your legs off and make you look much shorter.  I think that’s why I like this style so much.  the lining stops above the knee but the lace continues to about mid calf.  The transparency of the lace from the bottom of the lining to the bottom of dress allow some skin which prevents the illusion of shorter legs.

This lace midi dress is now sold out in white but available in a beautiful bright coral.  I’m wearing an XS for reference.  HERE is a similar dress also available in a few colors.

I recently found these Sam Edelman block heel sandals on sale and now they are sold out.  HERE and HERE are similar styles.

Beaded earrings are so on trend.  I am a big fan of turquoise.  It looks great with so many colors including coral and navy.  HERE is another style.

I just loved having a reason to wear this dress!  If you have a party or event coming up I highly recommend this look.

This.  You know I have a thing for off the shoulder so that’s a given.  I’ll take a good romper any day.  Maxis?  I love the look of them but I have a hard time finding any that fit me properly.  Enter the off the shoulder maxi romper!  This is really the perfect combo.  I found this one at Marshall’s but HERE, HERE, and HERE are some similar options.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet today.  I pretty much want to wear a maxi romper every day now!

BP. Ruffle Cold Shoulder Sweater // Express Short // Vince Camuto Booties // Melrose & Market Bracelets // BaubleBar Earrings, similar HERE and HERE // Rebecca Minkoff Crossbody Bag, similar HERE // Ray-Ban Sunglasses // Roseberry LipSense

Even though it’s not quite sweater weather (thank goodness!) this ruffle cold shoulder sweater is super light weight.  It’s perfect for those cool nights when we transition into fall later this summer.  Sub the shorts for high waisted jeans once fall hits and you’ll be all set this with this cutie.  It comes in other colors and is less than $32.  The price goes up to $49 after the sale.  I’m wearing an XS for reference.

My white destroyed denim shorts are on sale for less than $35 right now!  These are a summer staple for me.  They go with just about everything.

I couldn’t be more excited to have my hands on the new version of Vince Camuto’s heeled booties.  I have a similar color bootie with a lower heel, which definitely serves a purpose, but I like the option of having this higher heel to elevate a look.  I love how they dip lower on the top of your foot to give the illusion of a longer leg when wearing with shorts, skirts, and dresses.  They’re super comfortable and part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Other colors are available.  Last year these sold out in my size in this color before I decided to pull the trigger. Don’t hesitate if you are even thinking you need this bootie!

I’ve been sporting my Rebecca Minkoff olive green crossbody nonstop since I received it earlier this week with my order from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  It’s the perfect size for my small wallet, phone keys, lip gloss, and Epi-Pen (bee allergy and have to carry this massive thing with me everywhere I go!). Unfortunately it just sold out but I’ll keep my eye out for it to be restocked.  HERE it is in a metallic gold.  I seriously debated between that one and this one.  So, if anyone local gets the gold we can trade after awhile!

I cannot visit Nordstrom Rack and not visit the accessories department.  I always find the best stuff!  This week I found this set of bracelets which also comes in other colors.  I recently bought a different druzy bracelet that just sits on a tiny chain.  I can’t tighten it to fit my wrist and the stone always flips to the bottom of my wrist.  I thought it would work better on a pull string  and low and behold that’s just what this one is!  Fits perfectly!

I’ve been eyeing seed bead earrings there the last few visits and HAD to have these BaubleBar earrings that were new since I was there last!  They aren’t available online but check your local store.  I did find a few similar options HERE and HERE.

Remember that tomorrow the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public!  Until then only card holders have had access.  Many items that have sold out will be restocked so set your alarms!

My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale order has been delivered!  Yay!  I’m really pleased with all of my finds.

This look includes many of my new items.  I knew I had to have this blush ruffle tee dress as soon as I saw it.  I just love the casual girly vibe it has.  Unfortunately the dress is currently sold out in all colors but it will likely be restocked on the 21st when the sale opens to the public. (Until then only Nordstrom card holders have access to the sale).  I’ll keep my eye out for it and let you know.  If you don’t want to wait HERE and HERE are two similar options at the same price point.

I totally envision myself wearing this dress with some sneakers but chose my gold metallic mules this time.  They are from H&M and sold out online.  HERE and HERE are some other gold options.  If you are game for silver, HERE and HERE are some that are included in the Anniversary Sale.  Both also come in a nude color that I’m crushing on.  Couldn’t find that color anywhere when I was looking this spring!

If you’re looking for a lightweight jacket to transition into fall with, this asymmetrical one is a good option.  It zips on a diagonal but when it’s open it drapes in this ruffle waterfall which I love.  It’s available in other colors as well.

An item that I was most excited about in my order were these rose gold tiered tassel earrings.  They are so much more beautiful in person with the metallic threads that are hard to capture in a photo.  These will go with so much of what I own – blush, olive, burgundy, etc.

I was eyeing this Rebecca Minkoff Olive Crossbody when I was placing my initial order (at 3:00 am!) but ended up placing it later in the day when I just couldn’t stop thinking about it!  Again, it will go with with a lot of what I own and will be especially beautiful this fall.

Lastly, this blush choker wasn’t part of sale, I actually found it at Nordstrom Rack prior but it’s such a stunner.  It’s lined with blush granite stones.

I actually placed an additional order today for a few home items.  I keep finding more that I want when I go back to check on sold out items that I missed!

I hope you get everything you’re looking for!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – Early Access

If you’re a Nordstrom card holder I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that early access to the Anniversary Sale started this morning!  For those that aren’t, it opens to the public on July 21st.  The good news is that you can add items to your cart now but the sale prices won’t show until then.

This was my first year as a card holder and I wasn’t going to waste a single second getting in on the goods!  I actually set my alarm for 3:00 am and did my online shopping then.  Crazy.  I know.  But, last year a lot of the items that I had my eye on sold out in the colors and sizes I wanted.  I am so darn excited that I got in early this year.

There were SO many good options to choose from.  If you aren’t familiar with the sale, these are NEW items debuting for the fall season that are marked down up to 40% off!  After the sale they will return to full price.  We may all still be in full summer mode but think ahead to the staples you’ll need this fall.  It’s a great way to save!  Here are my top picks:

BP. Ruffle Cold Shoulder Sweater – So I have a similar sweater in green but this one is more lightweight and neutral.  It also comes in a color called Purple Shade that looks like a light pink on my computer.  I almost went with that but ultimately decided on gray.  Can you imagine making these kind of decisions before 4:00 am?! Ha!

Caslon Drape Jacket – I love this length jacket for fall days.  It’s light weight which is great for layering.  It comes it other colors as well.

Lush Ruffle Tee Dress – Lush has never let me down.  I adore the ruffle sleeves and literally can’t wait to get my hands on this little number which I will definitely be wearing before fall!  Comes in additional colors.

Rebecca Minkoff Small Love Nubuck Crossbody Bag – The struggle was real on choosing a color!  It also comes in a metallic gold that I REALLY want as well!  Both would go with so much of my wardrobe but olive it is.

Dolce Vita Hendrix Studded Sandal – I’ve had my eye on something very similar for about a month now but after seeing this I pulled the trigger on this studded gem.  I’m loving the block heel trend and the neutral color will go with everything.  Also available in black.

BP. Lightweight Rib Stitch Cardigan – I missed out on last year’s version of this and was super bummed!  I pretty much live in open cardis most of the year so I was happy to be able to add not one but two of these to my collection!  I also chose the burgundy stem but the truth is I want them all!

Leith Circle Cardigan – This is definitely one not to be missed!  It comes in several colors but blush was a must have for me.

Vince Camuto Francia Bootie – This is another item that I missed out on in my size last year (in last year’s version).  I later found them in black and love them so much I was determined to get the tan version this year.  These are so versatile.  I will wear them with shorts, dresses, skinny jeans, joggers, etc.

BaubleBar Luisa Tassel Drop Earrings – I have been drooling over this tiered style of tassel earrings for several months now but have never seen them less than $50…..until now!  This color will go with so much of what I have.

Spanx Power Short Mid Thigh Shaper – This one might seem kind of random but sometimes you need a little extra support or coverage in tighter fitting dresses.  I have an off brand of these that work good enough but for this price it was time to upgrade!

Later in the day I actually discovered a pair of jeans that I want that are already sold out in my size.  Sometimes items are restocked so if this happens to you just keep checking back.  I know I will!

There was only so much I could shop for that early in the morning but I’ve since seen some great beauty buys as well.  I’ve literally been on the go all day and haven’t had time to really dissect that yet but it’s worth checking out that category as well.

I hope you are able to get some of these amazing deals!  I would love to hear what else you find.
